A video-first luxury website for a boutique suite hotel on Santorini. Aegean blue, terracotta, whitewashed walls — the visitor is inside the destination before they've read a word.
Overview
A boutique hotel overlooking the Aegean on Santorini. The challenge: every hotel on the island claims luxury. The website needed to do something different — transport the visitor into the experience before any copy was read.
The solution is a full-viewport video hero paired with an editorial room-by-room showcase. The blue and terracotta palette is used sparingly, letting the photography carry the emotion. Every section builds desire before presenting a booking call-to-action.
Full-viewport atmospheric video from the first frame. The environment is felt before anything is read.
Each suite presented with its own editorial section — photography-led, copy light, desire heavy.
Seamless reservation flow embedded into the design — no jarring redirects, no broken immersion.
Designed for travel browsers — most hotel searches happen on a phone. Every detail considered.
Technical
Vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no frameworks. The video hero uses a compressed H.264 loop with a poster fallback, loading in under 2 seconds on a 4G connection. CSS custom properties drive the Mediterranean palette throughout.
Multi-language support (English & Greek) built via static HTML pages to avoid JavaScript translation overhead. Deployed on Cloudflare Pages for global edge delivery. Lighthouse score: 96+.
